Can ChatGPT replace humans?

Everyone is talking about ChatGPT, the new AI bot that uses machine learning to generate ‘human-like’ text based on the input you give it. 

Since its launch two months ago it has reached a staggering 100M people worldwide.

It’s free and easy to use. Type in a prompt and it can potentially write ads, articles, essays, job descriptions and even dad jokes for you.  

The language is conversational and smart, but it does come with a warning that while the answers may look plausible, there is no guarantee they are correct – so human oversight is still required. 

I’m not a tech guru. There are many articles out there from people who know more about tech than I do who continue to debate the pros and cons of AI. 

However, as a consumer, I’ve definitely had a bit of fun with it – maybe too much fun! Over the course of 1 hour, I threw in so many prompts that it told me I had overdone it!

What did make me laugh though was the response it gave to a prompt with my own name:

Based on my own experience, can I see myself using it to write my REIP articles? No, not only because of inaccuracy but because it doesn’t write with the same voice or tone that I do. Will I use ChatGPT over Google? Not yet.

While the rest of the world debates the use of it, I’m not convinced that we’ve reached a stage where tools like ChatGPT will replace humans – but I do recommend you do what I did. Login, ask some fun questions and see what you think.  

It will be very interesting to see how AI bots like this develop and progress over the coming years….
